Goodbye: Button and Rugby

We have had a sad few weeks on RoeDayOH, as we have had to say goodbye to "Cute As A Button" aka-Button, Butty, Buttsky (Monday 31 August 2009) and Rugby (early August). Button the reclusive kitty wasn't well known by many as she spent most of her time in our bedroom but she was sweet, affectionate although very scared of most everything. She had a good life upstairs and is being missed a great deal as she slept right by my side every night and would sit at the head of the stairs around 9:30 every night and meow loudly for us to come upstairs. On the other hand everyone knew and loved the Rugby Girl-Ms Congeniality for sure. Kuma actually trusted her and would sleep next to her.

Button is buried beneath the Kuma Rock in the field (couldn't put her out by Watson's as she had never been that far from the house and Watson was not her favorite person) and Rugby's ashes will be scattered across our field.

So good-bye Button and Rugby-you are both missed more than you know.

Mid-Summer 2009

Jed and Stan-visiting from TPE and HNL.

The hanging tomato baskets-not sure how they are going to do even though one of them does have fruit.
The Great Henrii-Blooming again in the garden.

Our Raised Bed-Architect Stan built it and it is level, sides are symmetrical etc. (we were never in doubt that it would be any other way :) This was taken about 6 weeks ago-we are now harvesting the beets and the chard.
Our dear friend Carol Keane and her husband Bill. They were visiting from BC. Carol knows all of the stories about about how perfect our boys and her 4 kids were when we all lived in Phoenix. We had a great time with them and plan on going up to BC this fall to visit them.
